Joe Schmidt’s brings in Garry Ringrose for injured Robbie Henshaw for Ireland vs. Wales in the Six Nations

Ireland head coach Joe Schmidt has called Leinster centre Garry Ringrose into the Irish squad ahead of the Six Nations clash against Wales in Dublin this weekend.

Ringrose, who did not feature for Leinster in last weekend’s PRO14 action, is joined by a host of other players for training ahead of the third round of the championship.

Munster’s Niall Scannell will train with the squad following an elbow injury to Rob Herring in Ulster’s game against Edinburgh, while scrum-half John Cooney comes into the setup for the injured Luke McGrath.

Meanwhile Tadgh Furlong, Iain Henderson and James Ryan are progressing well through their respective rehabilitation programmes.
